NOTICE TO FOREIGN ENGINEERS AND FOREIGN ENGINEERING CONSULTING FIRMS (FOUR WEEKS EXTENSION FOR APPLICATION AND PAYMENTS OF FEES AND CHARGES

The Engineers Registration Board is a statutory body established by an Act of Parliament, ERB Act Cap 63. The Act has given the Board the responsibility of regulating the activities and conduct of Engineers and Engineering Consulting Firms in Tanzania. Section 11 allows temporary registration of foreigners who can prove to the Board possession of qualifications, expertise and skills not available among Tanzanian Engineers. Section 34 Empowers the Minister to prescribe fees to be paid by the regulated persons and entities. Besides the Act, the Board being a public institution also operates within the framework of the other relevant Laws, Regulations and Government Circulars and Directives.
We are glad to announce that, The ERB Management Information System (ERB-MIS) have been upgraded to enable foreign firms, temporary engineers and technicians to apply, register and make payments online. The new system is on air and therefore this notice serves to instruct all applications for registration to be done online.

Engagement of a FIRM, LABORATORY, ENGINEER or TECHNICIAN not registered by the Board is a contravention of Section 14 of the Engineers Registration Act and is an offence to the public. Non-compliance to any requirements in the ERB Act is contravention punishable by the law including removal from register under Cap 63
